Why onsen ryokan?
The onsen ryokan — Japan's traditional hot spring inn — is one of the country's oldest forms of hospitality.
For centuries, people traveled to these inns and stayed for weeks at a time, a practice called toji, to let the body and mind properly reset.
The logic hasn't changed. In a world that rarely slows down, a stay here offers genuine rest and a window into rural Japan most visitors never reach.
